About Jane Honeck

Jane PictureIn October of 1982, Jane Honeck opened a new accounting  firm in Portland, Maine.   A year later, Janet O’Toole joined Jane and formed Honeck-O’Toole, CPAs.  Growing to a professional accounting staff of nine, the practice specializes in tax and financial planning and accounting and management consulting for individuals and a wide variety of small businesses.   www.honeckotoole.com

Jane worked for several years in a large, national accounting firm before opening the business.  Along wih being a CPA, she is alsoa  Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), a designation of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants which recognizes personal financial planning as a specialty area of expertise.

Jane specializes in tax and financial planning for professionals, small businesses and individuals. She is also a Certified Empowerment Trainer and has developed financial workshops and money coaching sessions to help her clients make meaningful and lasting change in their financial lives. 

Active in the community, she has served or been an officer for the YWCA, Children’s Museum of Maine, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, Downtown Improvement District, University of Southern Maine Corporate Partnership Committee and Williston-West UCC, as well as other organizations.  She is a recipient of the Tribute to Women and Industry (TWN) award and is the founder of the annual Spirit in Action Conference for Women. 

Jane lives in Freeport, ME with her husband Wayne Diffin.  Together they have 7 children and 7 grandchildren.
